Larry C. Denton (b. 1950)

     Larry Denton resides in Fort Smith, Arkansas with his wife Lynette and one son, Dakotah. Originally from Peoria, Illinois, Larry moved to Arkansas as a child with his family at the age of eleven. He is a self-taught artist with one semester of art in college while pursuing his architecture major at the University of Arkansas. Larry is a general contractor, designing and building custom and ultra-custom homes in the Fort Smith area. His sub-contractors sparked his interest in doing waterfowl art. He has done commissioned work for the local medical center. His work has been featured on the Arkansas Wildlife calendars in 1997-1998 and 1998-1999. He has placed second and third in the Massachusetts Waterfowl Stamp competition previously. This is his first time to win the competition.
